Urban Electric Rail Systems
 United States and Canada

The pages reached from each link below contain photos I've taken, recently or otherwise, along the urban electric rail systems in the United States and Canada.  There are over 2500 images posted on individual pages, and each such page presents commentary.

In any series clicking on any image will take the viewer to the next page, and that will eventually lead one back to that system's introduction.

Heritage Rail Notes:

The listing excludes locations where the system does not serve the general traveling public year-round, and for at least fifty hours a week.  Examples of cities so omitted include Fort Smith, Kenosha, Tucson and Yakima.  Lines must operate on steel wheels, with power externally provided by electricity.

Coverage for heritage lines in San Francisco, New Orleans, Charlotte and Philadelphia is included in respective Light Rail/Streetcar sections for those cities.
