Buffalo's single light rail line is short,
less than seven miles long. The downtown portion of Metro Rail,
as it is called, runs along a transit mall on
Main St. In an unusual twist, once the line leaves center city the rest
of the route -- eight further stations and more than five miles out to University -- is
in a subway.
The scene in view here is between Theater and Fountain Plaza,
the two most northern stops of the six along the
mall. |
