SAN FRANCISCO LIGHT RAIL
L-Taraval, Beyond West Portal

The L-Taraval is one of three lines that continue all the way southwest underground through the Muni Metro subway and the Twin Peaks Tunnel.  After the major station at West Portal it does a sharp turn to the right, and the rest of the way is old-style street running.

Like the last stop on the N-Judah, the outer terminal for the L-Taraval is close to the Pacific.  The namesake streets for the two lines run parallel, about a mile and a third apart.

This view shows an inbound train readying to turn into West Portal.
