BUFFALO LIGHT RAIL
Portal

The subway portal is in view here in this scene taken from the inbound Theater station.  It's mid-morning on a working day, but there are few signs of human presence in evidence.  Current planning will reintroduce regular vehicular traffic onto Main St. through downtown, which will require closure of this station.

The northern portion of downtown along and near the route has some aspects of vitality, including the theaters for which the current stop is named, and some restaurants and clubs -- but there are also a number of vacant storefronts.

The rest of the outbound route is underground out to University.  At over five miles, it is among the longest stretches of subway light rail operation in the country.
