CHICAGO HEAVY RAIL
Peculiar Destination Sign

It would appear from this image that the Orange Line is in the subway, whereas these pages demonstrate that it is a Loop route.  To compound the situation the front of the train bears a destination sign for Ford City, an area south of Midway Airport.  No CTA trains of any kind run there.  Some day, perhaps they may-- but here it's a case of signs not always telling an accurate story.

This concludes the Downtown portion of this series.  Chicago is a vibrant, fascinating city, both in general and for its urban rail (and other rail) activity.  The Loop, in particular, has an ever-calling allure for the transit lover.  I will be back, and there will be more from downtown.
