SACRAMENTO LIGHT RAIL
Final Stop, Watt/I-80

This photo is at Watt/I-80, and dates to an earlier time when just a single route went from here to Butterfield on the Folsom Corridor, an irregular, generally U-shaped journey through center city.

The segment out to Watt/I-80 was originally referred to as the North Line; and out the Folsom Corridor, the East Line.  Another collective name was the Starter Line, even though the north portion opened some months before the east.  Service began in 1987.

Car 120, in view here, is part of Sacramento's initial vehicle order from Siemens-Duewag.  These cars are quite similar to those that San Diego used for their earlier, and startlingly successful, system opening.
