NEW YORK CITY HEAVY RAIL
Brighton Line in Brooklyn

Brooklyn has its series of lettered avenues, avenues that cross the Brighton Line.

I had an aunt, now long deceased, who lived on Avenue S.  From her apartment complex one could watch -- in my case rather transfixed I might add -- trains on the four tracks of the BMT Brighton Line heading to and from Manhattan.

This small park was near her address.  The photo shows a train heading toward the ocean.  It was taken on one of the winter visits to New York City of my teenage years in the 1960s.
