The
line starts out from downtown on Westlake Ave., which slices across the grid pattern for
its first few blocks north. At Denny Way, Westlake bends to head due north.
Two blocks beyond Denny, the outbound trains turn right for a very brief stretch on Thomas
St., before turning again, to the left this time, to
head up Terry Ave. N. The two directions rejoin at a short private right of
way along the north side of Valley St., near Lake Union Park. Outbound
rails continue to
the northeast to
Fairview Ave. N, reaching beyond the terminal at Fairview & Campus Drive
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Station.
