The station design for Nicollet Mall in downtown is a
bit out of the ordinary, and perhaps does not conform to everyone's
sense of "city beautiful." In this view an outbound train is stopped
for boarding at the single center platform.
Travel completely
within downtown can be done at a reduced fare on Metro Transit, but unlike some other
cities there is no fare-free zone in the center of the
city. The standard fare is $1.75, fifty cents higher during
weekday rush
hours. Convenient six-hour and all-day passes are available. |
