TORONTO HEAVY RAIL
Transfer Point

This photo is at Kennedy, the eastern terminal of the Bloor-Danforth route.  This line opened in several segments between 1966 and 1980.  The Scarborough RT is a short escalator ride up.  Four stations along the Bloor-Danforth offer transfers to the city's traditional streetcar system.

With over a half century of service on its oldest portion, the subway system has utilized cars from a handful of suppliers over the years.  In a much earlier time the vehicles had a distinctive red paint scheme.  The model in view here is the H6 series, built by  Urban Transportation Development Corp. in the later 1980s.
