The Scarborough RT route is rather an anomaly on the
TTC rail networks. It utilizes a linear induction technology, quite different from
that of any other rail line in the area. And it runs on
rails set to standard gauge, unlike the slightly wider gauge that the
subway and streetcar systems each use.
