It was an ugly December day in the
1960s when I took this photo. A Canarsie Line train is just leaving Manhattan-bound from the
last stop at Rockaway Pkwy. in Brooklyn. At East 105th St. just
ahead it will pass through the Transit Authority's only grade crossing. That crossing has been gone since 1973 . . .
And I have not been this way
at all in
many decades now.
