MIAMI-DADE HEAVY RAIL
At Dadeland South

A Metrorail train waits to begin its run at the southern terminal, Dadeland South.  Stations average about one for every mile of the line. The entire run takes 47 minutes to complete.  Maximum speeds along the way can reach 58 miles an hour.

Miami-Dade's 136 rail vehicles were provided by Transit America, a later subsidiary of what for decades had been a major provider of urban rail vehicles, Budd Co.  Soon after delivery of these vehicles in the mid-1980s, the company abandoned the railcar business.
