An Orange Line train for Midway heads into the
Madison/Wabash station in
this image taken from inside a northbound train. The weather is decidedly
more pleasant at this station than it had been at the time of the previous image in this
series.
The squat Sun-Times Building, just across the Chicago River, is straight ahead.
Although it was a somewhat later addition to the downtown skyline, it
still managed to be a distinctive landmark for decades. It has since been demolished. |
