CHICAGO HEAVY RAIL
Randolph/Wabash

A  large and rather strange piece of art was in place on the east exterior of the Randolph/Wabash station at the time of this 2005 view.  The Wabash portion of the Loop is the downtown segment closest to Lake Michigan.  The city's wonderful park system along and near the water is just a block or two away, behind the camera.

The parallel north-south "L" structure over Wells is barely visible below the station, five blocks away.  Both the elevated trackage and downtown itself are called "the Loop."
