SEATTLE STREETCAR
To Single Track

A block or two before the downtown terminal the two tracks merge to one.  The signal for other road traffic is green, but the Streetcar must wait for its own cycle at this location.  Its signal, a short white horizontal bar, is visible above the "One Way" sign to the right.  Once cleared it will proceed to the lane on the far side of Westlake Ave., which is reserved ahead for rail transit.  Fairly early into the line's history the rest of Westlake was closed permanently for the block on which the terminal is located; that area is being turned into a public plaza.
