SEATTLE STREETCAR
Turning onto Westlake

The line's streetcars were manufactured by a Czech company, Inekon Trams A.S.  The model is called the Trio-12.  Similar units, but of a less-advanced design, were earlier put into service in Portland and then  in Tacoma.

In this scene, one day before public service began, a test run had just turned off the short stretch of private right of way, crossing Valley St. to head onto Westlake Ave. N.  There is a tremendous amount of road traffic in this area much of the time, and prioritized signals at key intersections make things much easier than they would be otherwise for the Streetcar.
