CENTRAL LINK LIGHT RAIL
Art Along the Way

South of Columbia City, and along the west side of Martin Luther King Jr. Way S, an extended sequencing of tiles in primary colors presents a very enjoyable perspective to the observer.  The work is entitled "Sound of Light," and is by Richard C. Elliott.

In 2008, voters in the three-county area that Sounder primarily serves approved a tax that will allow light rail to expand beyond current construction to a system of about 55 miles.  The present route will go south beyond the Airport to Federal Way, and north beyond the University of Washington to Northgate and Snohomish County, if current plans come to fruition.  And a line will operate across Lake Washington through Bellevue and out to Redmond.
