CENTRAL LINK LIGHT RAIL
At Othello Station

Construction through the Rainier Valley brought with it years of traffic and business interference, and a rather miserable feeling for residents and store owners, and travelers along and near the affected roadway and its cross streets.  Yet at the same time, the area, which once was quite blighted, began undergoing a major renewal, which was continuing upon the line's opening in 2009, and beyond  -- despite the difficult economic climate prevailing.

The neighborhood near the Othello Station has become amazingly ethnically diverse, and the businesses that line the area are interesting to view.  This shopping center in the background contains stores catering to many cultures.  There has been much new residential construction all along MLK Jr. Way S, and substantial building is continuing.
