SAN DIEGO LIGHT RAIL
At Chula Vista

The Chula Vista station has a "just-opened" look about it, which was the case when this picture was taken in 1981.  Several major  portions of the line in those early years were single-tracked.  The southbound train we are about to meet has just left such a stretch, and its switching has cleared the way for our train to continue after it makes its station stop.  The entire original line to the border has long since been double-tracked.
