UTA LIGHT RAIL
Storm Clouds in Sandy

TRAX began operation on the Sandy/Salt Lake line in late 1999.  This photo is from several months after that, from the first springtime of the route's existence.  It is a Friday evening, and the skies are very much threatening.

An out-of-service train rests beyond the southern terminal.  Rails continue further out, as freight traffic happens by here when TRAX is not running.  The electrification ends a couple of poles ahead.  Current planning has TRAX continuing along the freight route, which the Utah Transit Authority already owns, out to Draper.
