TRAX vehicles that were acquired new were
manufactured by Siemens, with two different models in service.
In addition the system bought at greatly reduced prices used cars
from the San Jose area's Valley Transportation Authority. All
vehicles carry a red, white and blue paint scheme. In 2008 UTA
placed the largest single order ever received by Siemens for
American light rail transit. When delivered, the 77 units of
the Avanto S70 model will more than double the present size of the
fleet.
South Temple
St. carries the routes along the southern perimeter of Temple Square, the
worldwide headquarters for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, commonly known as the Mormon Church. In this view the gothic towers of
Assembly Hall rise behind the rail car on a very sunny day in early
November.
