A cloudy, wet dawn was almost ready to break at the time
of this February
view. The train is near Temple Square, just a few blocks away from
what was then the
downtown end of the line. A portion of the snow-covered Wasatch
Range is in the distance.
For a city of modest population, and some difficult nearby
geography, Salt Lake has a rich history of interurban electric
railroads that headed north, west and south. That era is long
gone. |
