This view returns to the Sacramento Valley
terminal area. The series then continues with more downtown
images,
and then with scenes from along the other three RT light rail prongs. The
station was fairly newly in service at the time of this image.
Workers were still applying finishing touches.
In addition to the California Zephyr, the Amtrak facility hosts numerous daily "Capitol
Corridor" trains to and from the Bay Area.
For many decades large rail shops occupied much land to the north of
the train station, out of view to the right. That area is scheduled
for a
huge redevelopment
project that should add considerable vitality to this part of the
city. |
