PORTLAND MAX LIGHT RAIL
Bridge Traffic Stops

The upper level of Steel Bridge isn't raised very often, but when the Rose Festival takes place each spring, all traffic stops for ship movements in and out.  Dozens of spectators lined the sidewalks at the time of this 2006 photo, enjoying watching a part of the fleet come in.

The transit vehicle, barely visible, on the east side in this scene is a bus.  The bridge was up for quite a few minutes, but no LRVs ever came into view, on either side.  Everything was likely well coordinated long beforehand.
