PORTLAND MAX LIGHT RAIL
Pioneer Square, Toward Morrison

Pioneer Courthouse Square, in the heart of Portland's downtown, is a popular place.  Its use as a public space goes back only as far as to the mid-1980s; an old hotel was on this site earlier.

The colorful flowers and plants in view here were part of the scene leading up to a major Portland June event, and were being offered for purchase.  This view looks toward the northeast, with SW 6th Ave. crossing westbound MAX along SW Morrison St.  The train in sight will soon stop at Pioneer Square North.

Since the time of this scene, rails for Yellow and Green Line northbound trains travel along 6th, with a station located just to the right.
