This scene is from along NE Holladay St. in the Rose
Quarter, beyond the last
inbound stop on this side of the river for the Blue, Red and Green Lines. A
train from the Airport
has just crossed N Interstate Ave.,
and is beginning its ascent onto Steel Bridge.
The hulking presence of that Willamette River crossing is visible from many
angles east of the river. There is perhaps no other span used by light
rail in
the country that is as distinctive as is this old structure in Portland. |
