PITTSBURGH LIGHT RAIL
Approaching the Bridge

A train destined for South Hills Village descends from bridge level toward Station Square in this photo taken through the front window of a Pittsburgh-bound train.

The two main "T" lines carry route numbers identifying whether the cars utilize the Beechview corridor, 42, or the Overbrook route, 47.  The identification scheme now further carries a letter designator.  An ending "S" indicates service to and from South Hills Village.  An "L" denotes service to and from Library.  The letter "C" is used for Beechview trains ending at Overbrook Junction in Castle Shannon.   As South Hills trains run on both corridors, there are four resulting resulting route possibilities: 42S, 42C, 47S and 47L.
