Pedestrians cross behind car #462 and head toward
the French Quarter in this view from 2001. The rails are a
bit weedy looking. The track to the right belongs to the New
Orleans Public Belt Railroad, which some miles away owns and
maintains the famous Huey P. Long Bridge across the Mississippi.
The cars used on this line, in the 400 series, look authentically old, but they are not.
Like the newer Canal Streetcar units, they are well-done
replicas, built by the RTA.
