NEW ORLEANS STREETCAR
The River Beyond

The Riverfront Streetcar runs very close to the Mississippi, but because of the levee system designed to keep the water in its channel and out of the city, there is little or no actual view of the river from the line itself.

Much of the route near here is abutted by parkland and a well-used path along the levee, fine places for watching river traffic, streetcars and a great variety and amount of human activity.
