Although the huge park-and-ride at Fort Snelling
remains popular and important, the overall status of the station was
greatly diminished when it lost its terminal designation. No
patrons are in view in this late-spring afternoon view.
After running at grade through a portion of Fort Snelling, the Hiawatha
Line enters the portal for the 1.7 mile tunnel that takes it under
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. |
