Memorial Park in Pasadena lies between
two fairly short tunnel segments along the Gold Line. To the
south the route goes under Colorado Blvd. and the heart
of Old Town Pasadena. To the north the route positions
itself into the median of the Foothill Freeway for the final stops
out to Sierra Madre Villa Ave.
We are told that the design above the outbound platform provides "stylized contemporary depictions of
Native American imagery [which] are painted on laser-cut metal shapes."
The artist is John Valadez. As noted earlier, stations along the entire route
include various forms of artwork. Several others will be shown
on further pages in this section. |
