Much of the year there is little or no water in
the concrete-channeled Los Angeles River. But at the time of
this January view, with ample recent rains --
snow in the high country -- the riverbed
is modestly dampened.
Tracks line both sides of the waterway below, and high-voltage lines are strung on either bank of this major transportation
and utilities corridor.
