LOS ANGELES METRO LIGHT RAIL
A Crowd at Slauson

The elevated Slauson station would not normally be anywhere as busy as this on a Saturday afternoon.  Major track work was taking place a bit further south of here at grade level, and trains from each direction were alternating along the one set of rails in service.

After several delays on our train to Long Beach before we reached Slauson (that is the train visible here, doors open), a very clear announcement was made.  This train would be returning to Los Angeles, and all passengers continuing onward should leave to await the train arriving on the northbound track -- which would then reverse directions and continue back to Long Beach.

There was a bit of confusion, and likely some language barrier issues, but everyone eventually got off.

When that next train arrived, its entire load of ongoing passengers also had to leave, and the platform became very crowded with an unusual exchange.
