This page returns to Lechmere, and begins a
progression that follows the Green Line from Cambridge into the subway
and beyond, including a number of scenes of the wonderful old elevated
stretch at and near North Station -- now gone forever to transit history.
Then there are a number of additional photos from along the
Mattapan-Ashmont trolley, and, finally, a return to the subway under downtown
Boston for some further images.
Part of an
active train is visible at the extreme left, and a number of units are in
storage. Cars in the 3600 series were manufactured by
Kinki-Sharyo, and date to the later 1980s. |
