This photo shows the Frankford El from Girard St. in North Philadelphia. Trolley service has been restored to
the surface street, and electric transit in this area has a nice
feel of yesteryear about it.
South of this location, the elevated line
was relocated to the median of I-95, also above-ground, when the Delaware
Expressway was constructed decades ago. There is one station along that
portion, at
Spring Garden. |
