New York City has very few instances where two
active tracks cross each other. One example is illustrated rather
handsomely here. The outbound M connects to the remaining portion
of the old Myrtle Avenue
Line to head out to Middle Village Metropolitan Ave. In doing so
it crosses the inbound Jamaica Line track. A train departing the
last stop weekends and nights has just left the middle tracks.
Complex trackage and switch patterns make this area a spectacular sight
for the urban rail fan.
