NEW YORK CITY HEAVY RAIL
McDonald Av.

The once-BMT, once-IND now unified F Culver Line uses an elevated structure over McDonald Avenue in Brooklyn.  Trackage at street level once carried both a freight railroad and one of the borough's last three trolley routes.  I have fond, fond childhood memories of taking the McDonald PCC car from where it crossed the Church Avenue line to its end in Coney Island.  This photo is from the mid-1980s, almost thirty years after the end of streetcar service.
