PATH HEAVY RAIL
Exchange Place Reopened

This view is also at Exchange Place, and was taken almost a year after service was restored to to a temporary Lower Manhattan terminal in November, 2003.

In an older time the system was commonly called the "Hudson Tubes."  I have my own memories of occasionally riding it in the 1960s, when its fare, if memory is correct, was a quarter to Jersey City and forty cents to Newark -- substantially higher amounts than the cost of New York City's famous fifteen cent subway token.  The standard current fare on PATH for rides between any two stations is $1.75.
