Colorful art adorns the sides of the escalator
structure accessing the station at Charlevoix on the green route, just
south of downtown.
Like many other systems, the official map of the Métro is simplified to
show the routes
into a highly stylized and geographically imprecise fashion. The
reality is something else. The Green and Orange Lines both run
several blocks apart more or less east-west underneath the length of downtown.
But one station north of here on the Green route, the two lines intersect
on parallel tracks in a two-level station. If the passenger continues in what appears to be the
same direction, the Green will take him into downtown, but the Orange
will take him away from downtown, heading out to its northwestern terminal at Côte-Vertu. |
