The Blue Line is shown here from a street-level perspective, viewing the "L" structure at the Damen
station. Like so much else of the system this scene evidences rich
heavy rail history. The route from downtown to Logan Square has been
mostly replaced by subway, but in this area three stations soldier
on along the original route.
This station was called "Robey" in an earlier era, and a
branch to Humboldt Park, now long abandoned, split off a block or
so outbound from here. |
