CHICAGO HEAVY RAIL
Oak Park, Blue Line

Farther out the Blue Line runs along the south side of the Eisenhower Expy.  Outbound afternoon traffic congestion is apparent in this view, and a long freight occupies a track on the parallel CSX right of way.   This is near the Oak Park station on the line, two stops from the outbound terminal.  The then-named Sears Tower remains visible in the far distance.

In the earlier era of the Garfield Park "L," the line once went considerably further west, with trackage rights on portions of the Chicago, Aurora and Elgin interurban.
