After six further stations south of Roosevelt, the
Green Line splits into two branches, with one going to East 63rd-Cottage
Grove (old Jackson Park Service), and the other, to Ashland/63rd (old
Englewood Service).
The eastern Branch of the Green
Line was strengthened and modernized a few years ago, and in that
process it was cut
back from its former Jackson Park terminal.
A train waits at Cottage Grove in this view for its journey into downtown and beyond. It will utilize
the two legs of the Loop
over Wabash and then Lake, and
then will continue out to Harlem/Lake. |
