This scene also looks west from Clark/Lake, but this
time the
camera is located on the eastbound platform. The transit
junction at Lake and Wells is like no other heavy rail crossing in the
country. Two through tracks pass over two other through tracks at
right angles. And five of the eight potential track-to-track switching
opportunities exist. One line -- the Pink -- must cross over itself in
this vicinity as it enters and leaves the Loop. Other switches are nearby. It is
completely fascinating.
