This photo is from 1980 -- the rail system
was very new at the time.
Views of freight activity provide added rail interest in
locations such as here along the East-West Line, or on much of the South
Line to the Airport.
The Avondale station on the East Line is the only station on the system
equipped with four tracks. Major yards are located nearby. The
line has been extended two further stops east to Indian Creek since this
photo was taken.
The West Line features certainly one of the longest station names in the
country, Dome/GWCC/Phillips Arena/CNN Center. |
