The North-South Line goes into tunnel portions five
times to the north before it reaches downtown. This photo is at Medical Center,
and a short stretch of subway is ahead to get the line into the median of
Georgia Route 400.
Stations on each segment are assigned a sequential number with a
geographic prefix, radiating out from the Five Points main transfer
station prefix. This stop is N8. Peachtree Center, N1, is a
station unusual anywhere in the country in that its walls are the
natural stone through which the subway was blasted. |
