The Canada Line is underground for its first
eight stations in Vancouver. It heads out from Waterfront under
Granville St., then curves to pass under False Creek in a deep-bore
tunnel. It then travels under Cambie St., with four of its subway stops
below that artery. The line surfaces along Cambie, as pictured here,
just north of the Marine Dr. station, last stop outbound in Vancouver.
The route then crosses the North Arm of the Fraser River. After the first stop in Richmond
a branch splits off for YVR Airport, while the other route goes
generally south to Richmond-Brighouse. There are three
stations on each of those segments. |
