TACOMA LIGHT RAIL
At the Car Barn

The streetcars operating in Tacoma were built by Škoda, a Czech manufacturer which earlier provided this same model for the Portland Streetcar.   Similar units are running in Seattle, which is the third Western city operating a modern local streetcar line.

Tacoma Link's entire fleet consists of three cars, which are housed in a maintenance facility located a couple of blocks beyond the terminal at Tacoma Dome Station.  Two of the units are pictured there in this view, taken before the beginning of public operation in 2003.

This series presents a brief overview of the line from here to the Theater District/S 9th terminal at the northern end, and then comes back the other way, returning to this area at a much slower pace.
