TACOMA LIGHT RAIL
Flowers, Offices, Lofts

A plaza with bright summer flowers lies along Pacific Ave. near S. 21st St.  Behind the camera a plaque from the 1920s stands, somewhat removed from the pulse of things.  Its inscription announces that it is "COMMEMORATING DECEMBER 18, 1873 WHEN NORTHERN PACIFIC RAIL MET PACIFIC OCEAN SAILS AT TACOMA, WASHINGTON."

A southbound streetcar heads toward the S 25th station.  Beyond it the building which once housed Harmon Manufacturing, an old furniture company, advertises its offices and lofts -- call by phone or check the Website.
