The old brick-lined tunnels execute a sharp turn along the way as the route
switches from under 8th St. to under Washington Ave. It seems
strange to contemplate that steam engines worked underground here once upon a
time.
MetroLink fare is $2.25, with an all-day
pass available for $7.50. Like other modern systems, ticket
machines are available at each stop, and proof of payment is required once on
board. Fare inspection seems to be somewhat more frequent than on
